Ogun judiciary workers threaten strike

Abiodun appreciates monarchs with 40 SUVs
Ogun State branch of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has issued a 21-day ultimatum to the state government and threatened to embark on an industrial action should the government fail to fulfil its demands at the end of the ultimatum.

The ultimatum came following alleged failure of  Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration to pay outstanding promotion benefits and the controversial 10 per cent deduction from workers’ allowances.

In a letter dated April 8, 2026, the union warned that industrial action would result in the shutdown of the judiciary, effective April 29, 2026.

The state Chairman, Ajiboye Olanrewaju Tunji; and the Assistant Secretary, Adeyemo Adekanbi, in the letter they both signed, stated that the backlog of salary adjustments for staff promoted was dated back to January 2025.

Meanwhile, in a show of appreciation for the support given to his administration, Abiodun, yesterday, distributed 40 brand-new SUVs to traditional rulers to enhance their mobility.

The presentation was made during the statutory meeting of the Ogun State Council of Obas held at the Oba’s Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Abiodun commended the monarchs for their role in sustaining the peaceful atmosphere that enabled his administration’s “Building Our Future Together” agenda to thrive, while assuring them of continued inclusion in the affairs of governance.

The Chairman of the Council and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, commended the governor’s developmental strides and reiterated the council’s support for policies aimed at economic growth and stability.
