Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) yesterday charged governors of the South East region to unite the Igbo and accelerate the establishment of Ogbunigwe, a regional security outfit it earlier suggested.

In a statement in Abakaliki, National President of OYC Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said when established, the security outfit would tackle the influx of almajirai to Igbo communities, adding that OYC had volunteered no fewer than 1,000 youths for the commencement of regional security.

He described the slow pace and challenges associated with the establishment of Ogbunigwe, as the collaborative efforts of enemies and detractors of Ndigbo and the fear of Biafra agitators being recruited as foot soldiers for the outfit.

It refuted such insinuations and fears of enemies as a joke, noting that the continuous attempts by political musketeers and Igbo external oppressors to blackmail and intimidate the South East governors over their stance on the establishing the outfit will fail.
