The Niger-Delta Renaissance Network has dismissed recent allegations of killings and kidnappings levelled against Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), Dennis Otuaro, and others as a smear campaign orchestrated by oil bunkerers and crude oil thieves in the Niger Delta.

In a statement signed by its spokesman, Senior Comrade Gabriel Aniete, the group categorically dissociated Tompolo, the CEO of Tantita Security Company, and Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, from the claims circulating in a viral video.

“These allegations are completely baseless and a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputations of Tompolo, Dennis Otuaro, and others who have worked tirelessly for the peace and development of the Niger Delta,” the statement read.

The group alleged that the attacks were driven by forces frustrated by the crackdown on illegal oil activities in the region.

“Tantita Security Company has successfully apprehended countless oil bunkerers and crude oil thieves, significantly improving Nigeria’s oil production and ensuring the country meets its OPEC quota. This has disrupted illicit businesses that once thrived in the region,” it said.

Similarly, the group noted that under Otuaro’s leadership, the Presidential Amnesty Programme had recorded notable successes, including the training and rehabilitation of ex-agitators, which has contributed to stability in the region.

The Niger-Delta Renaissance Network urged those behind the character assassination to halt their campaign, reaffirming Tompolo’s commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s oil infrastructure and Otuaro’s dedication to reintegrating former agitators into society.

“We stand firmly with Tompolo and Dennis Otuaro in their mission to protect Nigeria’s oil resources and ensure sustainable peace in the Niger Delta,” the group concluded.
