The 88th congress of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) begins tomorrow Thursday, December 5, with an economic summit towards repositioning the ethnic nationality.

The 88th congress of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) begins tomorrow Thursday, December 5, with an economic summit towards repositioning the ethnic nationality.

The events would take place at the Urhobo Cultural Centre, Uvwiamughe-Agbarho, Delta State.

The chief host is the Deputy President of the Senate, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege with Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, as special guest,

Inauguration of new members into the board of trustees of UPU is on Friday when an election to usher in a fresh executive to pilot the affairs of the union for the next three years would be held.

UPU’s President General, Olorogun Moses Taiga, who is seeking re-election, would also give an account of his stewardship.

There would be cultural displays by all the 24 Urhobo kingdoms. The congress ends on December 8, 2019 with an interdenominational service.
