The Oma Life Rescue Foundation (OLIRF) has announced plans to expand its humanitarian and development interventions, with the opening of a new office in Abuja aimed at strengthening programme coordination and response to vulnerable communities.
The non-governmental organisation said the Abuja office, scheduled for unveiling on January 21, 2026, would serve as a hub to improve efficiency in programme delivery and enable quicker response to social welfare and emergency needs, particularly in underserved and hard-to-reach areas.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the founder of the organisation, Ambassador Omanibe Ameh-Sanusi, said the expansion reflects the foundation’s long-term vision of building sustainable support systems that empower vulnerable populations and promote inclusive social development across Nigeria.
She explained that the new office, located at Suite B11, Melita Plaza, Garki Area 11, Abuja, complements existing operational bases in Kaduna, Makurdi and Lokoja, positioning the organisation to coordinate its activities more effectively at the national level.
According to Ameh-Sanusi, OLIRF’s interventions have contributed to improved living standards for thousands of beneficiaries through access to education, healthcare support and emergency assistance. She said the foundation has previously donated empowerment items to communities, including vehicles for transport businesses, motorcycles, tricycles, sewing machines and other tools designed to support livelihoods.
She noted that the organisation also focuses on entrepreneurship development by supporting small businesses, creating employment opportunities and equipping young Nigerians with skills and resources for self-reliance.
“We operate under a strong governance and accountability framework, overseen by a Board of Trustees drawn from development, health, legal, and community leadership backgrounds,” she said.
She added, “We stand out with the maintenance of transparent financial systems, zero tolerance for corruption, robust safeguarding and child-protection policies, and a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning framework to ensure measurable impact and continuous improvement.”
Ameh-Sanusi said the foundation continues to expand its reach through partnerships with corporate organisations, media institutions and individual stakeholders, enabling it to deliver ethical, sustainable and people-centred humanitarian and development outcomes.
She explained that OLIRF’s programmes are designed to address both immediate humanitarian needs and longer-term development challenges, with a focus on community participation, local capacity development and inclusive solutions tailored to the needs of women, children and young people.
According to her, the establishment of the Abuja office marks a new phase in the organisation’s growth, strengthening its ability to mobilise resources, deepen partnerships and scale up interventions at both national and international levels.
She reaffirmed that the foundation would continue to uphold its core values of transparency, accountability and compassion, stressing that OLIRF remains committed to improving the quality of life of vulnerable Nigerians and contributing to national development through sustainable, people-centred interventions.
