Oloye Lekan ‘Alabi now Ekefa Olubadan of Ibadanland

The roles of traditional rulers in all societies cannot be overemphasised and they are held in very high esteem in Yorubaland.

Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji,Aje Ogungunniso 1(right); wife of the newly-promoted senior chief, Chief(Mrs.)Adetokunbo Alabi; the first Yeyemeso of Lalupon, Ibadanland,the Iyalode of Ibadanland, High Chief (Mrs.)Theresa Laduntan Oyekanmi and Oloye ‘Lekan Alabi,at the promotion ceremony in Ibadan, Oyo State

The roles of traditional rulers in all societies cannot be overemphasised and they are held in very high esteem in Yorubaland.

Following this, a senior chief of Ibadanland, Oloye ‘Lekan Alabi, was promoted from Agba Akin Olubadan to Ekefa Olubadan, by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1.

The promotion ceremony took place recently at the Olubadan Palace, Popo area, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Oloye Alabi, who is the first Culture Ambassador of the National Museum and Monument, Ile Ife, was installed the Mogaji Oyetunji Olundegun Family of Ile Oye, SW2/486, Isale ‘Jebu, Ibadan, by the 38th Olubadan of Ibadanland, the late Oba Emmanuel Adeyemo, Operinde 1, on November 31,1994, and was first promoted Jagun Olubadan in the Olubadan Traditional Chieftaincy Line, by the 39th Olubadan of Ibadanland, the late Oba Yunusa Bankole Oladoja Ogundipe, Arapasowu 1, on 12th December 2002.
