Olubadan-designate, Olakulehin, may be enthroned after burial of Oba Balogun in June
There are strong indications that the Olubadan-designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, may be enthroned after the state burial of the immediate past monarch, Oba Lekan Balogun, which has been slated for Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the main bowl of Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan.
A source disclosed, yesterday, that the coronation date would be announced immediately after the burial programme of Oba Balogun, which will have in attendance Governor SeyiMakinde and dignitaries from all walks of life.
Also, the newly-built multi-million naira Olubadan palace at Oke-Aremo in Ibadan North Local Council of the state will be commissioned two days before a yet-to-be-fixed coronation date.
Makinde may likely give his consent to the nomination of Oba Olakulehin as the next Olubadan soon.
Also, the family source said that necessary arrangements had been put in place to ensure a hitch-free coronation ceremony.
“The family is in touch with the political leader of the state and members of the Olubadan-in-Council.
“Baba has a cordial relationship with members of the Council. I can authoritatively tell you that there are no ill feelings.
“Baba has been attending to visitors from various groups. He is in high spirits,” the source said.
