President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has reaffirmed his resolve to mobilize support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).declaring his intention to join the Delta Central Senatorial race.

He pledged continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending his economic reforms.

“The economic policies introduced by President Tinubu have significantly increased resources available to states. While the reforms may be challenging, they are necessary and will ultimately yield positive outcomes for our people,” he said.

He urged party members to prepare for the upcoming primaries with seriousness and commitment.

“My appeal to all of you is to return to your respective wards, organize yourselves, and be ready to participate actively in the primaries. The choice of who represents you in 2027 rests in your hands.” He stated.

Addressing a large gathering in Oromurhu-Orogun in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Omo-Agege disclosed that he has formally accepted the call by his constituents and supporters to contest once again for the Delta Central Senatorial seat.

He said that his appearance at the event was not to make a fresh declaration, as it had already been publicly announced earlier.

Senator Omo-Agege highlighted his key infrastructural and educational projects he facilitated, emphasizing their tangible impact. They included the Federal Polytechnic, Orogun, the Nigerian Defence Space School in Urhoboland, the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Kwale.

Omo-Agege also listed the benefits of the Oil and Gas Industrial Park project in Delta Central, which he influenced when he was Deputy Senate President, describing it as a transformative initiative for the region.

“The Oil and Gas Industrial Park is, in fact, a project of greater magnitude than the combined investments in the three tertiary institutions. It will deliver 24-hour electricity to communities including Orogun, Abraka, Eku, and beyond, thereby driving economic growth,” he explained.

He said he would work collectively and relentlessly to ensure the return of all APC candidates—from the presidency to the governorship, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the State Houses of Assembly.

He referenced local campaign strategies, noting, “In Ughelli North, our objective remains ‘six over six,’ while in other local governments, we aim for ‘five over five.’ This reflects our commitment to total victory.”
