The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has inaugurated a 10-member Reconciliation Committee to address festering internal divisions within the party, with the Akoko North East Council Chairman Olawale Mohammed appointed as a member of the team.

The committee was set up following the internal rivalries that have continued to threaten the party ahead of next year’s poll, with the committee tasked with reconciling aggrieved members and consolidating party structures.

 

The 10-member committee is chaired by Biyi Poroye, who also serves as chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), with Dele Olanubi as deputy chairman.

 

Other members include Jamiu Ekungba, Vincent Oyepata, Kenneth Odusola, Modupe Martins, Babatunde Okeyomi, Funmilayo Oluwadare, Jumoke Aborode, and Bamidele Olanubi as secretary.

 

While expressing gratitude for his appointment, Mohammed emphasized his commitment to the party’s unity and progress.

 

The Akoko North East council chairman described his selection as a “great privilege and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the continued growth, unity, and progress of our great party.”

The council boss reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the APC and its ideals, pledging to discharge his responsibilities with diligence, fairness, and integrity.

 

“I remain fully committed to the task ahead and will discharge my responsibilities with diligence, fairness, integrity, and a strong sense of duty,” he stated.

 

Mohammed further assured the party leadership of his dedication to ensuring the success of the committee’s assignment, noting that he would work collaboratively with other members and stakeholders to promote reconciliation and strengthen unity.

According to a statement by the party’s state secretary, Alex Kalejaiye, the committee was constituted “to reestablish cordial relations among its members and fortify its structures” ahead of forthcoming elections.
