Sixteen members of the Ondo State House of Assembly have commended the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris over the arrest of the state National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Chairman, Jacob Adebo, popularly known as Idajo.

The NURTW boss was arrested over the violent attack and wanton destruction of properties at the state assembly complex on November 9th, 2018.

Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Olamide George and the Majority Leader, Olamide Araoyinbo gave the commendation in a statement made available to The Guardian.

The statement expressed hope that investigation by the police would be thorough, and ensure Idajo and his gang are prosecuted and punished according to the law of the land.

The lawmakers called on the police to be vigilant and not bow to pressure from influential citizens to release him from their custody.
