Ondo Assembly revises budget, okays N194b, Oyo gets N285b

The Ondo House of Assembly yesterday passed the state’s 2019 appropriation bill into law after an upward review from N190 billion to N193.9 billion.

The Ondo House of Assembly yesterday passed the state’s 2019 appropriation bill into law after an upward review from N190 billion to N193.9 billion.

The speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun, noted that the document was jerked up by almost N4 billion, representing a 2.04 per cent increase.Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu had on December 31, 2018 presented the budget estimates to the legislature in Akure.

According to Oleyelogun, the passage followed the adoption of the report and recommendations of the Sunday Olajide-led House Committee on Finance and Appropriation.

The panel chair had pointed out that growth drivers and projects for the development of the state were the bedrock of the piece of legislation.
Also yesterday, the Oyo House of Assembly approved the state’s N285 billion budget submitted last December by Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

The document comprises recurrent expenditure of N121,619,813,614.24 and capital expenditure of N163,531,434,576.24 .The speaker, Olagunju Ojo, said the speedy passage was borne out of the commitment of the lawmakers.He assured the people of the legislature’s continued commitment to checks and balances on the executive arm of government.
