Ondo gov, Benue elders, alumni greet Alasoadura, Akume, Aregbesola as ministers
Akeredolu, through a statement yesterday in Akure by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, told Alasoadura, “you belong to all.”
He noted that the confirmation of Alasoadura by the Senate would go a long way in bringing together all stakeholders in the party, irrespective of differences.
“The governor believes strongly that Alasoadura belongs to all in the APC. When opportunities such as this come, there are bound to be straw-holding cleavages laced with the potency of further dividing or creating needless gulfs among leaders,” he stated, while advising against divisive utterances inimical to unity in the APC.
In the same vein, former governor of Benue State, Sen. George Akume, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari nominated him into his next cabinet based on trust.
He spoke when he received a delegation of elders from Kwande Council in his Abuja residence to congratulate him on his new appointment.
The elders were led by the chairman of APC, Benue Zone A, Vincent Uji, and a party chieftain, Terlumun Akputu.
Akume disclosed that many individuals, particularly from Benue, fought hard to stop his nomination into the cabinet, but for the trust Buhari has in his person.
Also, old students of Manuwa Memorial Grammar School, Iju-Odo, Ondo State, have praised Buhari’s appointment of former governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, as minister.
The alumni association, in which Aregbesola belongs, in a statement by its national president, Teni Faromoju, said the appointment was a confirmation of Buhari’s earlier pledge to appoint competent, tried and tested hands into his new cabinet, noting that Aregbesola meritoriously fell into this group judging by his achievements as Osun governor.
It described the former governor as a good ambassador of the school in all the places he had been called upon to render services, including Lagos State where he excelled as Commissioner for Works.
