He said: “No doubt, Ondo State has a lot of potentials that can bring all round development to this country, and this summit is an indication that the state is preparing for development.“I must say that development has suffered in two ways, which are over exposure of words, and under implementation of polices.

We talk too much and pay less attention to the implementation of policies.”He explained that human capital development is key, and expressed satisfaction that the state was doing something to get the people involved in the process.Osinbajo commended the state government “for this great initiative where investors would come together to brainstorm.”

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said the summit was designed to create a platform for partnership with stakeholders in the private and the public sector for economic growth and development. He added that the collaboration would be in the area of agricultural, infrastructural and human development, to create a resilient and growing economy in the state.

The governor said the re-launch of the education endowment fund was aimed at bridging the funding gap and make public schools to be more attractive than the private ones.

Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Emmanuel Igbasan stressed government committment to making the state a regional economic champion, and preferred investment hub towards impacting the quality of life of the people.

Also, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, said the state is naturally situated and blessed to contribute immensely to development of the nation through its natural endowments. The monarch reiterated that the giant strides embarked upon by neighbouring Ogun State to hike its monthly Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) could be replicated in Ondo State.
