Onu denies alleged N400m scam in NABDA
Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has denied alleged N400m scam at the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA), an agency under the ministry.
There have been accusations that Onu, who is the supervisory minister of NABDA, was presiding over the ministry that concealed the N400m alleged theft under former Acting Director-General of NABDA, Alex Akpa. Onu, who was reacting to a Freedom of Information (FOI) request sent to his office by the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) on behalf of 36 affiliates.
While responding in a letter dated January 20, 2021, Onu acknowledged that the ICPC was investigating the matter, which was why he would not confirm whether Akpa would be prosecuted or not.
