The Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) in Osun State has given the Fulani herders living in the state seven days ultimatum to fish out bad heads among them as a pre-condition for peace in the state.

It vowed to use everything within its reach to tackle the security challenges currently facing the state.

The OPC Governor in the state, Alhaji Leke Akintayo, gave the ultimatum yesterday during a peace meeting held with the leaders of Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria and Miyetti Allah Castle Breeders Association in Osogbo.

Akintayo also warned the Fulani herders engaging in criminal activities, such as kidnapping, banditry, robbery, among others, to vacate the state immediately or be made to face the full wrath of law.

The OPC leader said: “We called for this peace meeting to find a lasting solution to kidnapping, armed robbery and all sorts of criminal activities in the state.”

However, speaking during the meeting, Chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Alhaji Abdulahi Alilu, vowed to give maximum support to OPC and other security agencies, promising to co-exist peacefully with the farmers and residents of the state.

Alilu, represented by Seriki Soliu, who said over the years, they also have been the victims of kidnappers, promised to work together with OPC.

Also, Public Relations Officer, Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (Fulani Intelligence Squad), Mr. Muhammad Adam, and the youth leader, Alhaji Ibrahim, promised to support the OPC in its bid to curtail criminal activities in the state.
