The Lagos State government has said that the Opebi-Ojota Link Bridge would be ready between May and June 2023.
The new completion date is three months ahead of the expected delivery date earlier set by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Aramide Adeyoye, revealed this in a statement when some members of the State Executive Council (SEC) inspected ongoing construction works on the bridge, especially the pilling works.

According to her, the project is one of the four legacy projects of the Sanwo-Olu administration, and it is geared toward making commuting very smooth.

Adeyoye, an engineer said that a lot was put into consideration in the design and construction of the bridge, stressing that the bridge would have a walkway for residents to jog and keep fit.

On his part, the Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, expressed optimism that on completion, Lagos residents and motorists would be greatly glad, because it would ease movement, reducing travel time within the Maryland and Ojota axis of the state.
