The Judicial Commission of Enquiry established by the Oyo State Government to investigate the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Esinele and Yawota communities of Oriire Local Government Area has invited members of the public to submit memoranda containing relevant information to aid its investigation.

The commission said the call forms part of efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and recommend measures to prevent a recurrence.

This was contained in a public notice signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Mrs Olamide Sandra Tella.

According to the notice, memoranda should contain relevant facts, evidence and other materials relating to the abduction, including the circumstances leading to and surrounding the incident, developments after the abduction, the security situation before, during and after the incident, and any acts or omissions that may have contributed to its occurrence.

The commission also requested information on the response of relevant authorities, institutions, communities and individuals to the incident, as well as recommendations for preventing similar occurrences in future.

It urged contributors to provide their full names, contact details and supporting documents where applicable.

The memoranda are to be addressed to the Secretary, Judicial Commission of Enquiry into the Abduction of Students and Teachers in Esinele and Yawota Communities, Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State.

The commission said submissions could be delivered physically to its secretariat at the Conference Room, Office of the Head of Service, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, or forwarded electronically through [email protected].

It fixed August 14, 2026, as the deadline for submission of memoranda.

Governor Seyi Makinde inaugurated the Judicial Commission of Enquiry on July 31, 2026, with a mandate to investigate the circumstances surrounding the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Ahoro Esinele and Yawota communities of Oriire Local Government Area and recommend measures to forestall a recurrence of such incidents.
