Osinbajo attends Sierra Leone’s 60th independence celebration

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo represented President Muhammadu Buhari at Sierra Leone’s 60th Independence Day celebration which took place in the capital, Freetown.

He joined other heads of state and government from Africa and beyond at the event.


Historically, both Nigeria and Sierra Leone have shared cordial relations almost right from colonial times.

The relationship is evidenced in the socio-economic, technical, and security cooperation over the years.

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, said Osinbajo was accompanied by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zubairu Dada and others.
