Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Governor of Yobe State/Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CEPC), Mai Mala Buni, have expressed happiness by the performance of Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, after his one year in office.

They gave the commendation at the weekend during the inter-denominational church service and inauguration of some projects executed by Uzodimma since his assumption of office.

While Buni commissioned MCC – Relief Market – Egbu Road, Ahmed inaugurated the Banquet Hall, Government House, Owerri.

Osinbajo said the Imo State governor had come to bring hope to the people of the state and the nation by extension, urging the governor to rely on God for success in governance.

He said: “I see great hope for our nation.”

Buni, on his part, extolled the leadership style’s qualities, noting that governance was a serious business.

Lawan said he appreciated the quality and durability of work executed by Uzodimma for the Imo people, thereby demonstrating governance as a serious business, distinguishing himself from others, and set to restore hope for the people of the state.

He said: “The roads I have seen in Imo State today are not the ones done in a hurry, but roads constructed with the best materials that will last long and moreover, Imo people have shown me how much they love Governor Hope Uzodimma.”

The Senate President, therefore, urged the people of the state to continue giving the governor unalloyed support.

Uzodimma, who spoke earlier, said he would not fail God, having made such vow.

He said: “Given the unforgettable experiences that defined my emergence as the duly-elected governor of Imo State, I vowed from day one that I would neither fail God nor Imo people. I entered into a voluntary covenant with God that I would serve Imo people with utmost honesty and that I would do all within my behest as governor to make life far better for Imo people than I met it. I also made a solemn vow to the Almighty that I was not coming as governor of Imo State to grab their land or to loot their patrimony or become richer than the state government when I leave office but to serve and serve alone.

“Then, one year after, it is time to look back and ask the pertinent question: So far, how far? The answer is what we shall showcase for the next week. However, suffice it to add that in this regard, I dare say that so far, so good.

“As I look through the stadium today and see the sea of heads of those who have joined us from all parts of the state for this solemn assembly, I glorify God for blessing me with such wonderful brothers and sisters who share in my vision of making Imo State a better place for all of us.”
