Osun government declares today public holiday to mark Isese Day
Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has declared today, August 20, 2021, as a public holiday in commemoration of this year’s “Isese Day” festival.
A statement, signed by the state’s Commissioner for Home Affairs, Alhaji Tajudeen Olaniyi Lawal, on behalf of the state government, said this year’s “Isese Day” would, however, not be marked with the usual funfare.
Lawal said the decision was anchored on the realisation of the increasing rate of the third wave of COVID-19 in the country. The commissioner, on behalf of the state governor, congratulated the traditional religion worshippers in the state and also appealed to them to be peaceful and law-abiding in their conducts before, during and after the festival.
He equally enjoined them to pray for the growth and development of the state and the governor.
