Management of Imo State University Teaching Hospital (IMSUTH), Orlu, has said that doctors in the hospital were not on strike.

But The Guardian gathered that the resident doctors had embarked on strike to press home their demand for payment of arrears of 100 per cent salaries and entitlements.

The Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr. Chukwuma Duru, disclosed this yesterday during a meeting with the deputy governor, Gerald Irona, and other stakeholders in the health sector, in Owerri.

He said the management was viewing the information of strike in the health institution as rumour.
