Gombe State government said it has received 269 applications from investors booking for spaces in its multi-billion naira Muhammadu Buhari ultramodern industrial park.

The state government also disclosed that its maiden investment summit, tagged, ‘Goinvest 2022, is to hold on October 11, 2022.

Chairman, Steering Committee of the summit, Deputy Governor Manassah Jatau, disclosed this, yesterday, at a mediabriefing in his office.

Jatau explained that of the 269 applicants, 50 are from the manufacturing, eight from beverages and 211 from agro-allied sectors.

He added that the 1,000 hectares Muhammadu Buhari industrial park at Dadinkowa, expected to host foreign and local investors, has incentives such as five years tax relief and free land for serious investors.

“All the steps taken by government are geared towards securing job opportunities for our youths and uplift the economic status of our state,” Jatau said.

“We believe that only industrialisation can take us through and out of poverty,” Jatau said.

He listed untapped 40 megawatts power, security stability, Dadinkowa (the second largest dam in the country) and several natural resources, among others, as added incentives for investors.

He, however, cautioned that, though desperate, the state would not tolerate recurring cases of investors who lure and secure lands from government only to either abandon or sell the property.
