Oyo Assembly gets first female clerk

The Oyo State House of Assembly yesterday swore in Felicia Foluke Oyediran as its substantive Clerk.

The Oyo State House of Assembly yesterday swore in Felicia Foluke Oyediran as its substantive Clerk.

Oyediran, who is the first female clerk of the House, had spent 27 years in service.

Speaker of the House, Olagunju Ojo, during the swearing in of the Clerk, said her appointment became imperative following the retirement of the former Clerk, Paul Bankole.

Ojo said that her swearing-in was in line with relevant laws of the state having met the requirement of the law.

Meanwhile, the first appointed female Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, Dr. Fransisca Nwafulugo, has boasted of having what it takes to deliver effectively in the institution.

Nwafulugo, who spoke with journalists in Kaduna, admitted that being first female rector in the institution, she will face challenges ahead, but promised to weather the storm with ‘God’s help.’
