Oyo govt rules out 2023 tax returns deadline

The Oyo State Internal Revenue Service (OYIRS) has warned that there would be no extension in the deadline for the filing of 2023 annual tax returns.

The Executive Chairman,OYIRS, Mr. Adebowale Olufemi Awakan, gave this warning in a release from his office. 

He warned employers of labour, company owners, or their representatives to file their 2023 Annual Tax Returns before January 31, 2024. 

Awakan noted that the filing of tax returns was a law that all employers of labour must obey. 

He warned that non-compliance would attract penalties, including a fine of N500,000.00 for corporate bodies. Individuals are given till March 31, 2024 to file the returns on their Direct Assessment.
