• Trains 100 Health Workers
Oyo State government has spent about N1 billion to fight the dreaded coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The acting chairman, Oyo State COVID-19 Taskforce, Prof. Temitope Alonge, disclosed this yesterday during a press briefing at the Infectious Disease Centre, Olodo, Ibadan.
Alonge explained that about N200m had been expended on the centre to make it operational from Monday, April 6, 2020. He added about N800 had been expended on the intensive care and high dependency units and testing kits across the isolation centres in the state.
Alonge said about 100 health workers would undergo extensive training from today to effectively combat COVID-19 in Oyo.
He, however, maintained that contact tracing of about 140 persons was ongoing and that the suspects would soon be reached and isolated. The government has received close to N100 million from willing donors in the fight against COVID-19.
