Pakistan authorities arrest Nigerian woman for selling cocaine

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) says it has uncovered a cocaine distribution network targeting students in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, leading to the arrest of a Nigerian woman suspected to be at the centre of the operation.

According to the ANF spokesman, the suspect, identified as Wasilat Amusa alias Alaba, was arrested during a sting operation at a flat in Sector H-13 of the Federal Capital. She was allegedly caught red-handed selling drugs.

“During the raid, 180 grams of cocaine was recovered from her residence,” the spokesman stated, adding that her Nigerian passport, issued in Lagos, was also seized as evidence.

Preliminary findings suggest that Amusa had been supplying narcotics to students in local educational institutions. Authorities said the arrest follows ongoing operations to clamp down on cross-border drug networks exploiting Nigerian nationals for trafficking.

“It is part of a broader crackdown, as the Force has previously apprehended several Nigerian drug dealers operating in Pakistan,” the spokesman added.

The ANF confirmed that a case has been registered against the suspect, and further investigations are underway to trace other members of the network.
