Wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, has paid a ‘solidarity visit’ to Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, urging her contemporaries to give all needed support for the current administration to succeed.
A statement yesterday by Special Adviser (Media) to the First Lady, Busola Kukoyi, quoted Dame Jonathan as commending women groups for their support for President Bola Tinubu and his wife.
Attesting to her competence and capability to deliver, Jonathan said: “You are one of the women that I looked forward to, because you make Nigerian women proud. I am here to encourage and support you because our country must move forward.
“Out of sight will not be out of mind for me. I am with you at all times, call me anytime, any day, I will work with you for the country to move forward, and be a better place for all. Nigeria is our country, and we have no other place to go.”
Earlier, Mrs. Tinubu lauded the visitor Jonathan for her support and advice.
“We thank God that she is here on a solidarity visit, and for us to discuss on how to move the nation forward. I appreciate her visit, support and all the tips she is always giving,” she added.
Meanwhile, the First Lady has called on women, especially mothers, to re-orientate youths on values and morals.
She made the appeal while playing host to executive members of the National Council for Women’s Societies (NCWS) in her office at the State House, Abuja.
Her words: “The youths must realise who they are, their true identity as Nigerians, and not the borrowed foreign culture.”
Tinubu held that Nigerians have what it takes to salvage the nation compassionately.
“We cannot wait for the government to do everything. We must lend a helping hand to everyone around us,” she added.
In her remarks, National President of NCWS, Hajia Adamu Lami Lau, promised to partner with Tinubu on her Renewed Hope Initiative pet project.
