PCRC donates 250 litres of petrol to FCT Police

THE  Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has donated 250 litres of Premium motor spirit to the newly establish Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command to aide the smooth take off of the unit.

The FCT commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed who took delivery of gesture when he received the National chairman of the PCRC ,Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan and  his members drawn from the National, Zonal, and State chapters, commended the PCRC for donation and promised judicious use of the petrol .

In a statement by Josephine Adeh, the FCT Public Public Relations Officer, the PCRC National Chairman, on behalf of the Committee, commended the Commissioner of Police for the establishment of the Violent Crime Response Unit in compliance with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police.

According to the statement, PCRC chairman noted that the initiative will significantly enhance the operational effectiveness of the Command, improve rapid response to emergencies, and strengthen public confidence in policing within the FCT.

“In further demonstration of its support, the PCRC donated 250 litres of petrol to facilitate the take off of the newly established Unit. The Chairman reaffirmed the Committee’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force, particularly the FCT Police Command, in achieving a safer and more secure society.

“In his response, the Commissioner of Police expressed appreciation to the PCRC for its consistent support and partnership. He assured that the Violent Crime Response Unit will justify the confidence reposed in it by the public and will operate in strict compliance with the directives of the Inspector General of Police.

“The FCT Police Command remains resolute in its fight against crime and urges members of the public to support ongoing security efforts by reporting suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station or through the FCT Police Command emergency numbers.”
