Former governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff, has been selected by the National Caucus of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to be the party’s next national chairman.
Sheriff’s selection would only stand if confirmed by the party’s Board of Trustees, members of whom are currently meeting in Abuja.
Ali Modu Sheriff was elected two times as the governor of Borno State on the platform of the All Nigerian People’s Party (ANPP) in 2003 and 2007, defeating the PDP candidate Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, in both cases.
