PDP commends governor Ugwuanyi for launching 35 projects
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the projects included 25 roads, hospitals, water schemes and electricity installations.
The party, in a statement issued on Sunday in Enugu by its Chairman, Chief Augustine Nnamani, said the governor’s robust grassroots development initiative, in spite of the current economic crisis, was a welcome development.
“It is a sign that Gov. Ugwuanyi has a clear vision of how to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people in line with the party’s manifesto,’’ the statement said.
It said that the party was optimistic that the development moves would boost the local economy and improve the lives of the people, especially at the grassroots.
The statement said the party was delighted by the commitment of the administration to fulfilling its campaign promises to the people.
It added that the governor’s “ unprecedented’’ performance so far had increased the party’s chances of winning elections in the state.
NAN recalls that Gov. Ugwuanyi on Saturday simultaneously flagged-off 35 rural infrastructural projects across the 17 local government areas of the state.
“This move is in line with my administration’s promise to drive development to every corner of the state with the aim of creating more urban centres to boost economic growth and improve the lives of our people,’’ the governor had said. (
