PDP condemns construction of palace roads
Says Oshiomhole has no respect for monarch
The Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu Media Team (POI) has condemned the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s government of Adams Oshiomhole for the emergency construction of the road leading to the monarch’s palace.
The team in a statement said Oshiomhole and his anointed candidate, Godwin Obaseki should be rejected, as they have no single respect for the Benin traditional institution.
The Ize-Iyamu team urged the people not to be deceived by the campaign rhetoric of Oshiomhole, saying it was a cosmetic approach.
“Why is it that he is fixing the road leading to the palace now election is near? The road leading to the palace of the Otaru of Auchi, his home king, was fixed as soon as he became governor of the state,” the team said.
The POI team further alleged that Governor Oshiomhole “arm-twisted the departed Oba’s son by taking his landed property at Okoro-Otun Road, in the Government Reservation Area (GRA), in the name of Edo State government and he is currently building his personal mansion there.”
The team also alleged that the governor arm-twisted some senior lecturers of the University of Benin, including the immediate past Vice Chancellor, to acquire the staff quarters close to the Government House for his personal and associates’ use.
The POI team urged the palace to distance itself from the antics of the governor and his anointed son.
Construction started recently on the roads leading to the palace of the Benin monarch, in preparations for the coronation of a new king.

But Osho is from Iyamo not Auchi. How does constructing road to Oba’s palace a disrespect? Yes, may be eye service to win election, but stop pandering to primordial sentiments.
We will review and take appropriate action.
