Why PDP may find it difficult to bounce back in South-West, by Farounbi

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has said that governors elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will soon come up with an action plan that will help salvage the current hardship being faced in the country. He, therefore, charged Nigerians to keep their heads up despite the difficult times and join hands with the leaders to make the country great again.

Makinde, who was apparently reacting to the recent backlash of the PDP governors over allegations of owing workers and pensioners’ salaries in their various states, said that despite criticisms against the PDP Governors’ Forum, he and his colleagues would remain undeterred but focus on impacting the people.

The governor spoke, at the weekend, while commissioning the 12.5 kilometres Challenge-Odo Ona Elewe-Apata Road, which he also renamed Theophilus Akinyele Road, Ibadan.

MEANWHILE, an elder statesman, Dr Yemi Farounbi, yesterday, said that the PDP in the South-West region might find it difficult to bounce back if it continues to drift aimlessly as it is doing now.

Farounbi said the party had lost out for its failure to perform its duty as the alternative party or the opposition party. He stated this in a chat with The Guardian in Ibadan.
