PDP tasks DSS on social activist’s abduction
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has challenged the Department of State Services (DSS) to clarify the claims that its men were allegedly involved in the abduction of social activists and the party’s new media personality, Abubakar Idris (popularly known as Abu Hanifa Dadiyata), last weekend.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiya, PDP noted that there were already insinuations that Dadiyata’s abduction was not unconnected with “apparent desperation to intimidate, suppress and silence public opinion and free speech in Nigeria as well as to further entrench a siege mentality on our citizenry.”
It urged the secret police to take urgent steps in securing the activist’s release.
