Kano State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Abba Kabiru Yusuf, yesterday, filed fresh application before the election petition tribunal to ‘correct errors’ in its petition.

At the resume of pre-hearing, yesterday, counsel to Abba, Chief Gboyega Awomolo (SAN) told the tribunal that the motion restricted to the mistakes on the witness list in the petition will not affect, change or add to the facts already established.

In his objection, counsel to first respondent, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ahmed Raji (SAN) called for outright discountenance of PDP’s application.

Similarly, counsels to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Offeong Offeong (SAN) and C.A.S Oshomegie also aligned with INEC’s submission.

Both 2nd and 3rd respondents said the petitioner couldn’t prove beyond reasonable doubt the application did not intend to amend its petition.

The respondents, however, insisted the PDP candidate had exhausted its 21-day privilege afforded to complete and conclude its petition before the tribunal.
