Outgoing Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Interior, Bassey Akpanyung, has emphasised the need for workers to conscientiously contribute their quota to building a virile nation through hard work.

“I want to leave with these words, that hard work does not kill. It is hard work that has brought me this far. You must value and embrace hard work,” he said to directors and staff of the ministry, during the send-forth party organised to mark his retirement from public office.

Speaking earlier, the Minister, Abdulrahman Dambazau, who prayed God to give Akpanyung a higher responsibility so that Nigeria will further benefit from his wealth of experience, said the ministry will greatly miss his service, especially at it is presently undergoing restructuring.
