Planned #FearlessinOctober protest mere political demonstration — YYSA

A group, the Yoruba Youth Socio-Cultural Association (YYSA), on Sunday, said the planned October 1 protest is merely a political demonstration aimed at nurturing a political ambition by expressing dissent and systematically mobilising for Omoyele Sowore’s 2027 ambition.

Olalekan Hammed, the National President of YYSA, stated this in a message made available to The Guardian in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The group said Sowore still has time to adequately prepare for his future ambition by gaining practical experience in government, adding that it is not too late for him to start from a lesser office and learn about governance for future tasks.

Hammed said: “The planned October 1 protest organized by the African Action Congress (AAC) former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, is merely a political demonstration to nurture his political ambition by expressing dissent and systematically mobilizing for his 2027 ambition.

“He is taking advantage of the current hardship in the country to set people, especially Nigerian youths, against the government and convince them to give him the necessary support for 2027.

“Notwithstanding, it is good to be a self-driven personality, but the presidency requires more than students’ unionism experience, part-time teaching, and being an online news media director.

“Moreover, to gain vast experience in political office administration, he can start by contesting for the local government chairmanship seat in Ondo State. Doing so will give him the opportunity to test his popularity at the grassroots level.

“Truly, Mr. Sowore still has time to adequately prepare for his future ambition by gaining practical experience in government.

“It is not too late for him to start from a lesser office and learn many things about governance, specifically for future tasks.”
