‘Please help, I need N10m to transplant two kidneys’

Fifty-two year old Gbadamosi Ishola has a family of five. Until about nine months ago, he did his best to provide for his family and even took turn to sell at his wife’s small shop, whenever everyone else was away from home. All that has become history since he came down with diabetes towards the end of last year.

Over the while, the situation deteriorated to “chronic renal failure secondary to diabetic nephropathy,” and the family is now begging for N10 million from kind-heated Nigerians or groups to enable their breadwinner undergo an urgent kidney transplant.

Recalling how things took a turn for the worse, Ishola said: “I had an injury on my leg, which refused to heal. After a while, I decided to visit the hospital, where I was diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure. I was at the hospital for months before I was discharged.

For sometime after my discharge, I was not feeling well, so I decided to visit another hospital since LUTH was on strike. After a series of tests and treatments in different hospitals, it was diagnosed at Eko Hospital that my condition had worsened and I now need to replace both kidneys to stay alive.”

According to Ishola’s wife, “When Eko Hospital started treatment on my husband, initially I thought it was going to be a straight forward treatment. We did 11 dialysis sessions, which cost N35,000 each. We also paid for blood, drugs, bed and food.

At some point, we could not pay for the dialysis, which we needed to do about twice a week because there was no money. This is why I am calling on kind-hearted groups and individuals to please come to our aid as our husband and father needs to replace two damaged kidneys.”

Financial assistance to Ishola should be made to Zenith Bank Account No: 2000244488, Name: Gbadamosi Ishola, Phone Number: 08023291601, 08067062755.
