The police high command has arrested a daredevil kidnapping gang made up of 9 men and two women.

The gang has been terrorising residents Gwagwalada, Kachia and its environs.

One of the suspects, Musa Ibrahim, 27, said his gang which operates with two AK 47, has carried out kidnapping twice in Gwagwalada and another two operations in Kachia.

One of the ladies, Hafsat Adamu said the guns were well concealed in a box, which he delivered to his boyfriend, one Babangida, a member of the gang.

“We are trying to get Nigerians abreast of emerging crime trends so that citizens can take proactive measure towards safeguarding themselves,” the police said.

Two Ak 47 rifles, 2 pump action rifles and many other dangerous weapons were recovered from the suspects.

According to the prime suspect of another kidnapping gang, Bashiru Sule, 25, “I am a member of kidnapping gang. My master thought me kidnapping work well. We operate in Kano and take our victims into the bush where our boss is waiting. I board the vehicle as passenger and sometimes, I drive my vehicle. I load passengers in the park and I provide information to my kidnapping gang on the quality of people in the Car.

“In our last job, we kidnapped 3 victims and took them to the bush.

“Our gangs are stationed along the highways in Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, Kaduna. During our first operation, they gave me N70,000 share.

“I got N40,000 in my second operation and got N30,000 in my last deal.”

CP Frank Mba noted that he operates in two motor parks in Kano.

He urged motor park managers to be vigilant against criminal elements.
