The Police Command in Lagos State says it has arrested a 21-year-old woman, simply identified as Blessing, for allegedly stealing a one-month-old baby boy.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.

He said the mother of the baby reported that at about 7.00a.m. on Saturday, while she was sleeping at home with her baby, Blessing allegedly stole her child and went away.

The command’s image maker said that the suspect, after stealing the child, allegedly went to church to give testimony about giving birth to the baby.

Hundeyin said that the suspect was later traced to the Agbotikuyo area in Agege, where the baby was recovered.

He said that an investigation was ongoing into the case.
