Police arrest officers seen assaulting man in viral video

The police officers involved in the assault of an unidentified man in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, have been arrested.

“These men have been arrested, and their commander will personally bring to the Force Headquarters for further actions,” Adejobi tweeted on Tuesday.

“They are three in number, attached to RRS, Rivers State. Their action does not portray the police in a good light at all.”

A police officer was seen beating and slapping a man in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in a viral video shared on social media.

Adejobi on Monday condemned the action and assured that the officers will be arrested, saying their action was not a representation of the Nigerian police.

The police spokesman said the assault on the man was shocking, barbaric, and unbecoming of a police officer.
