Less than 24 hours after the armed robbery of a new generation bank at Ifon, Ose Council of Ondo State, the state police command has arrested one of the suspects who allegedly killed two police officers.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Femi Joseph, confirmed the arrest and explained that men of the command were on the trail of the bandits shortly after the incident.

Joseph added that during the search, one of them was caught where he was treating the bullet wounds he sustained during the gun duel that lasted for more than 40 minutes.

“There is progress now in our investigations. We have made arrest of one person who is suspected to be among those who perpetrated the dastardly act.

“We got him where he went to treat his gunshot wounds. He is in our custody now and he is helping us in our investigations,” he said.

He pleaded with the people to be calm, noting that the command was on top of the situation even as he assured that other members of the gang would soon be apprehended and prosecuted.
