Police arrest suspected robbers in Lekki, Lagos

The suspects were arrested on April 14, under Ajah bridge by the anti-crime patrol team attached to Ajah Divisional Police Headquarters, Ajah, while on routine patrol.

Police in Lagos has arrested three suspected armed robbers terrorising the Lekki-Epe Expressway area of the state.

The suspects were arrested on April 14, under Ajah bridge by the anti-crime patrol team attached to Ajah Divisional Police Headquarters, Ajah, while on routine patrol.
    
The team had intercepted a silver-coloured Honda City vehicle marked GGE 288 GV with three occupants; 23-year-old Ahmed Balogun; 30-year-old Emeka George and 29-year-old Bolaji Elewuro.
     
The operatives on suspicion conducted a search on them and in the process recovered one local-
made pistol with three live cartridges.
    
The operatives immediately moved the suspects to the station and a preliminary investigation commenced.
MEANWHILE, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has directed that the suspects and exhibits be transferred to the CP Special Squad for more investigation.
   
He reiterated his commitment towards the safety and security of residents and assured us that adequate steps will be taken to tackle insecurity.
