Police arrest three cultists with female underwear

The Ogun State police command has arrested three members of the dreaded Eiye Confraternity in Agbowa, Ogijo area of the state.

The Ogun State police command has arrested three members of the dreaded Eiye Confraternity in Agbowa, Ogijo area of the state. The arrest was carried out at the weekend when officers of the command stormed an initiation hideout of the group, as part of the command’s war against cultism and other violent crimes.

According to a statement by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, men of the Ogijo Division got information about the hideout, while the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Muhammed Suleman Baba, was leading his men of Operation Puff Adder on routine patrol.He noted that the hideout is the group’s usual arena where they initiate new members, which was subsequently stormed and the three members arrested.

“The arrested cultists who have all confessed their membership of Eiye confraternity are: Olagboye Abidemi, 32 years; Olasemojo Michael, 28 years; and Wasiu Waheed, 23 years. Recovered from them are: one jack knife, one blood stained silver knife, one female pant tied with charms and other assorted charms,” he said.

Oyeyemi added that the Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the Anti-kidnapping/cultists section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.

Meanwhile, detectives of the Lagos State police command at the weekend arrested a three-man suspected armed robbery gang, which specializes in snatching Bajaj motorcylces from their riders in Ipaja area of the state.Spokesman of the command, Bala Elkana, who made the disclosure yesterday said on May 11, at about 8:00a.m. the Ipaja Police Station received a distress call that some armed robbers were operating at Victor Street, Ipaja.
 
“A team of policemen from Ipaja Division was quickly mobilized to the scene. Three suspects, namely Adeleke Lateef, 23; Lekan Bashiru, 23; and Chinedu Uzozie, 21, were arrested in connection with the case. The victim, one Saheed Oloyo, whom the suspects injured with a machete and dispossessed of his motorcycle, was rescued and taken to hospital and he is responding to treatment.

“One locally-made pistol, one machete, one knife and other weapons were recovered from the gang. The Bajaj motorcycle with registration number KRD-310-QH snatched by the suspects was recovered. Investigation is ongoing and the suspects would be charged to court for conspiracy, armed robbery and attempted murder.

“Also, two traffic robbery suspects were arrested on Friday at about 9:40p.m. after the Festac Police Station received a distress call that some hoodlums were sighted at 24Road, opposite. G-Close Festac. Two suspects, Obinna Alozie, 21, of No. 19, Ogogoro Junction Iyana Iba and Obinna Machu, 27 of No 10, Canal road, Ajegunle were arrested.“One locally-made pistol with ammunition and other dangerous weapons were recovered from them. Investigation is ongoing and the suspects would be charged to court,” Elkana said.
