Ogun State Police Command has assured residents of the state of adeuate security during the Eid-el-Fitri celebration, which marks the end of Ramadan fasting.

According to a statement by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Command is not oblivious of the recent upsurge in the violent activities of some hoodlums masquerading as cultists to unleash terror on innocent people of the state, adding that large scale and elaborate tactical, as well as covert policemen, have been strategically deployed by the Acting Commissioner of Police, DCP Babakura Muhammed, across the length and breadth of the state to ensure a crime-free celebration.

Oyeyemi, who enjoined residents of the state to reflect on the reasons for the one month fasting period, and be good ambassadors of Islam by ensuring peace at all times, also appealed to members of the public to alert the police whenever/wherever they noticed any strange/suspicious face, gathering or movement in their domain.
