Detectives at the FCT Police Command have started investigating activities leading to the mysterious death of Sadiq Kabiru Gaya, son of Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, who was allegedly murdered and thrown into a pool in an Abuja hotel.
 
Senator Gaya is the senator representing Kano South, in Kano State.
 
Detectives at the FCT command believe that the matter is a case of a suspected homicide.
 
According to the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, DSP Josephine Adeh, at 12.45 am, one Senator
Kabiru Gaya reported a case of the suspected homicide of one of his sons, Sadiq Gaya, who was alleged to have drowned in a swimming pool at Dominate Luxury Apartment.
 
“The deceased family reported that the death was not natural as they suspected foul play.”

The command said the investigation is ongoing and its outcome would be communicated subsequently.
 
The deceased, the family claimed was invited by his best friend to a hotel in Abuja, where he was allegedly stabbed in the chest and dumped in the hotel’s pool.
 
It was also gathered that five suspects in connection with the alleged murder have been apprehended by the Police while the investigation is progressing.

Sadiq, until his death, was a lawyer and he has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
