Police nab suspected drug baron in Delta

Operatives of Delta State Police Command, yesterday, arrested one Sajor Louis for allegedly being in possession of 91 wraps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, and 124 wraps of Loud.

Operatives of Delta State Police Command, yesterday, arrested one Sajor Louis for allegedly being in possession of 91 wraps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, and 124 wraps of Loud. 
   
The Command’s spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bright Edafe, who confirmed the arrest, said 50 parcels of SK, some razlers and bottles of liquid mixed with substance suspected to be Indian hemp were also recovered from him.
   
According to the image maker, the police operatives raided a black spot in camp 74 area, Asaba, where he was arrested and taken to custody for interrogation.
  
Also, Bright Edafe,  said a police dragon patrol team has rescued a man, who was kidnapped on Sunday at about 0230hour and taken away in the boot of his RX 350 silver-coloured car marked ASB 124 HK by four armed men. 
  


He stated that the kidnappers drove their victim towards Ughelli Town, in Ughelli North Local Council of the state.
 
“Following information received by the police, Dragon Patrol Team 27, 28, 19, 20, and 16 were massively deployed to the scene. The team went on an intelligence led operation and trailed the abductors to Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) junction Effurun, where upon noticing that the teams were closing in on them abandoned the victim and the vehicle and fled. 
  
“The 22 –year-old victim (name withheld) ‘m’ native of Ozoro,  was rescued unhurt and the vehicle recovered, while the police in Ozoro have gone after the fleeing hoodlums with a view to arresting them,” Edafe said.
IN a related development, a Safe Delta patrol team stationed along Umutu/Obiaruku Abraka road has arrested a 27-year-old Nzubechi Emeka ‘m’, from Egbema  Local Council of Imo State, for allegedly stealing a  ladies motorcycle.
    
The PPRO,  said information got to police that one unregistered Lifan ladies motorcycle parked in the compound of the complainant (name withheld) had been stolen by unknown persons, and the team immediately embarked on intensive stop and search and on Sunday at about 1030hrs, the suspect was sighted moving towards Umunede, he was trailed to Umunede where he was arrested.
  
Edafe said the suspect has confessed to the crime., while the motorcycle has been recovered from him.
