The police in Delta State, yesterday, paraded 18-year-old Ebube Linus and his two elder brothers for beating a 68-year- old woman over allegations that she made his manhood disappear.

Parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Asaba, spokesperson for the command, Bright Edafe, said the trio were arrested for attempted murder, having raised a false alarm that led to the beating of the “innocent” woman.

He said: “On Sunday, October 8, the social media was awash with news of a certain woman who was stripped naked by an irate mob, over claims that she made the male organ of one of the suspects disappear .

“When the command got the information, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) GRA Division, mobilised and led his men to Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) Road, Asaba, opposite Elomaz Hotel, where the woman was rescued.

“The woman was beaten and stripped naked for a crime she didn’t commit, “ the police said, and warned people against taking the law into their hands.

“Police operatives arrived at the scene, rescued the victim and, thereafter, sent her to three different hospitals, which rejected her because of her critical condition, before a private hospital eventually accepted her for treatment.

“Linus, who claimed his manhood suddenly disappeared, said he raised the alarm because as soon as the old woman, who was in the same tricycle with him, touched him, his manhood disappeared.

“He said they were later taken to a place where the woman agreed to return his missing manhood.
