The Oyo State Police Command on Tuesday was alleged to have raided the Ibadan home of the sacked Chairman of the Oyo State Park Management System, Mukaila Lamidi also known as Auxiliary and recovered weapons.

The Police raid on Auxiliary’s home was carried out after the dissolution of the PMS committee by the Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde on Monday shortly after his inauguration for a second term.

Makinde had said in an official statement signed by his chief of staff, Segun Ogunwuyi that the dissolution of the committee was with immediate effect.

The announcement came after Auxiliary and his men were seen jubilating at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan, venue of Makinde’s swearing-in.

“I have the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to inform you of the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System with immediate effect from today, Monday, 29th May 2023,” Ogunwuyi said.

On Tuesday, a member of the state executive committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Akin Akinwale tweeted that Auxiliary escaped when the police allegedly stormed his house but some of his men were arrested.

“Report says Police stormed Lamidi Auxiliary’s residence. He escaped. Some of his lieutenants were arrested,” Akinwale wrote accompanying the tweet with a video of the weapons and ammunition.

“The romance between the Governor, Seyi Makinde and Auxiliary seems over. Must be nice.”

It should be recalled that the Oyo state government announced the appointment of Auxiliary as the chairman of the PMS disciplinary committee in February 2020.
