Abia State Police command has raised the alarm on possible bank robberies or attacks by criminals, urging necessary pro-active measures.

However, the state government has announced a N5 million reward to anybody or group with information that would lead to the arrest of the potential attackers.

Police spokesman, Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna, stated that the warning followed intelligence report that a gang was making serious efforts to unleash mayhem on financial institutions in the state.

He directed persons with useful information on the gang members to relay it to the Commissioner of Police, to ensure total confidentiality.

Financial institutions in the state were advised to adopt extra security measures to avert the planned attack.

Also, hotel owners were urged to be more meticulous in admitting lodgers.
