The Social Democratic Party (SDP) House of Representatives candidate for Ilorin East/Ilorin South Federal Constituency, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Cook-Olododo, has said that any politician who downgrades youths in his constituency is a misfit and should, therefore, be voted out of office in 2023 general elections.
Cook-Olododo, who stated this, yesterday, during the grand-finale of a week-long empowerment programme organised for 100 youths in his constituency in Ilorin, said until youths form the nucleus of human development in any country, socio, political and economic conditions of such a nation would be at low ebb.

“We need the empowerment of our youths to give the nation a sign of a better future. All my time at the legislative house, I had made this issue the focal point of my agenda as a lawmaker.
“If we have a lawmaker that at present shuns the youths in his scheme, he should not be considered for a return to the law chamber in the 2023 polls,” he said.
He said the development was powered towards training them on Information Communication Technology (ICT) and thus making them self-reliant and abhor all forms of social vices.
The SDP candidate also presented the youths with 100 brand new HP laptops after the five-day training programme.
Cook-Olododo said that the five-day training programme was organised in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI), Ilorin.
He said that the 100 beneficiaries of the programme would also be presented with computer tablets, computer accessories, anti-virus software, among others, at the end of the training programme.
